15 October 2026 · Mac 0.3.6, build 45#
Released. Build 44 introduced the 0.3.6 workflow and appearance changes; build 45 was published later on the same day with SVG-preview and task-discovery fixes. Build 44 remains in the release history, while the current download and update feed point to build 45.
- Completed tasks now show a brief notice without taking keyboard focus, opening the main panel or switching the topic you are reading. An unread indicator remains after the notice closes. Click it or tap the default Fn shortcut to open the result when you are ready.
- Hold the default Fn shortcut for about 0.3 seconds to start recording; release to finish. Recording and transcription use a separate compact overlay. In a CueSpec topic, text returns to that topic's draft. Other apps are attempted only when the original editable target can be identified; otherwise the text is kept for copying. Text insertion does not send a message.
- Choose System, Light or Dark appearance, plus a supported glass or frosted material, with an immediate settings preview. Glass edges require macOS 26; earlier systems use the frosted fallback. Changing appearance preserves the selected topic, drafts and text-input state.
- Topic, answer and artifact areas have aligned spacing and headings. Long answers open expanded with independent scrolling, and artifacts use a separate preview panel.
- Build 45 adds bounded native SVG rendering for thumbnails, zoomed previews and copying, and corrects SVG failures that were reported as a size-limit problem.
- Task discovery and state checks run separately from quota and full-history reads, including newly created tasks and new turns in existing conversations. No end-to-end real-task notification latency guarantee is established.
- Current-turn failure reasons appear near the top of task details, and the previous-turn answer has a direct entry. Exhausted rate-limit retries are labeled rather than presented as a successful result.
Updating: choose Check for updates in the quota panel on 0.3.0 or later, or use the official 0.3.6 build 45 ZIP and installation note. The universal package supports macOS 15.0 or later and is Developer ID signed and Apple notarized.
Verification scope: release records cover isolated native window, appearance, SVG/artifact preview, draft-preservation, task-discovery and voice-delivery checks, plus an Apple Silicon installation with preserved data. Real-microphone use, cross-app insertion, real new-task notice timing, Intel and fresh-Mac installs, sleep/wake, long-running use and this build's full automatic-update cycle were not newly verified. Published code and isolated checks do not establish those results.
14 October 2026 · Mac 0.3.5, build 36#
Released; superseded by 0.3.6. This update includes the changes developed in the local 0.3.3 and 0.3.4 candidates; those candidates are not separate public releases.
- Fixed the reply field sometimes failing to accept typing after the panel was collapsed and reopened.
- Click outside to collapse an expanded panel, or use the pin to keep it open while you work elsewhere. The top entry, close button and Escape still collapse it. Collapsing preserves drafts and does not stop Codex.
- A completed conversation can open automatically. Drafts and attachments are preserved; switching waits until recording, transcription or refinement finishes.
- Old completion notices are canceled when the conversation enters a new turn. Read or cleared notices leave the queue; temporarily missing conversations can be shown when they recover.
- Independent voice results remain available alongside completed conversations. Completion notices respect the full-screen hiding preference.
- Reduced horizontal movement and repeated-read flicker, removed unnecessary center space on screens without a notch, and improved button feedback and small-icon click targets.
Update: users on 0.3.0 or later can choose Check for updates in the quota panel. The official 0.3.5 ZIP is also available. It requires macOS 15.0 or later, includes Apple Silicon and Intel architectures, and is Developer ID signed and Apple notarized.
Verification scope: release records report isolated completion-event, keyboard-focus, draft/attachment and voice-delivery checks. These do not establish a fresh real-microphone test, a real new-completion test, Intel or fresh-Mac acceptance, or long-running stability for this release.
13 October 2026 · Mac 0.3.2, build 23#
Released; superseded by 0.3.5. Dismissing a followed topic now applies only to its current turn. A confirmed new turn brings it back into the followed list and task count without switching the topic you are reading.
- Same-turn progress, completion and restarting CueSpec do not reopen a dismissed topic. Open it from All tasks if you want to restore it early.
- Dismissal does not stop Codex or delete the conversation, draft or attachments.
- Older dismissal records use the first confirmed turn after migration as their starting point.
13 October 2026 · Mac 0.3.1, build 21#
Released; superseded by 0.3.5. A followed-topic list and current-turn artifact area make it easier to move between conversations and review their outputs.
- Keep separate drafts and attachments while switching topics; the selected topic is restored after restart.
- Review current-turn images, files, pages, tables, code and file changes. Duplicate images are grouped and stale previews from another topic are discarded.
- Copy original images, zoom or fit previews, open files in their default app and reveal folders in Finder. Folder contents are not browsed recursively in CueSpec; interactive web pages should be opened in a browser.
- Previews adapt to limited screen space. The release also removes test-only voice launchers, orders and simulated payments.
12 October 2026 · Mac 0.3.0, build 20#
Released; superseded by 0.3.5. This Mac package supports macOS 15.0 or later and includes Apple Silicon and Intel architectures. It is signed with a company Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
- Updates can be checked and downloaded in the background, then installed when you explicitly quit. Recording, sending and unfinished draft saves are protected from an update-triggered exit.
- The live task list excludes history with outdated states. Those conversations remain accessible in All tasks.
- Expanded panels are easier to drag by the title and surrounding space, including between displays.
- Pasted screenshots retain their expected colors.
- Structured questions can accept the parts you have answered so far. An uncertain send keeps your draft while delivery is checked.
- After voice input becomes a draft, returning to the list no longer adds an unnecessary success-result page.
Updating from an older version: 0.2.1 and earlier, or versions using the old GitHub update source, need one manual replacement with the current package. Subsequent updates use the new update service. See Install CueSpec on Mac and Mac 0.3.0 release overview.
12 October 2026 · Mac 0.2.1#
Released; superseded by 0.3.0. This maintenance version focused on reliable conversation delivery and accurate task states.
- Fixed replies failing with a cloud-host requirement in newer Codex versions.
- Opening settings or reactivating CueSpec refreshes the detected installed Codex version.
- A busy model is shown as waiting to retry, instead of incorrectly marking the task complete.
- Drafts are retained when receipt is uncertain. Restore sending only after confirming that Codex did not receive the original message; CueSpec does not blindly resend it.
12 October 2026 · Mac 0.2.0#
Released; superseded by 0.3.0. This version added more ways to prepare a useful reply.
- Paste screenshots, images and files into a reply, and remove unwanted attachments before sending.
- Rename a topic from task details.
- Hold to speak inside the reply field, then release to transcribe; the Fn recording route remains available.
- Use the settings status overview to check voice readiness, permissions and service connectivity.
- Improved panel spacing and alignment, settings navigation and update detection.
11 October 2026 · Mac 0.1.3#
Released; superseded by later versions. This version improved task browsing and completion reminders.
- Switch between live tasks and all tasks, with concise or detailed task descriptions.
- Clear completion reminders individually or together. Cleared reminders stay cleared after restarting; a later completion can create a new reminder.
- Fixed task-state display for conversations containing large images, and opening details for selection-only questions.
Current limits and work in progress#
These items are not release announcements.
- SPECS 01 glasses integration and whisper-capture performance remain in development or need validation. No released Mac update establishes a measured whisper-isolation result.
- Optional text refinement requires a configured CueSpec Server and login. Local transcription is a separate route; full real-service refinement acceptance remains pending.
- Windows, multi-computer workflows and phone support remain future work.
- A structured answer sent externally can leave the original Codex question card open. See the known-issue guide.
- The published package includes Intel binaries, but Intel use and every fresh-Mac installation path have not been individually validated.
How to read this log#
Entries are shown newest first. A release entry identifies the version, release date and user-visible changes. Development updates, when present, are explicitly labeled and do not imply that a feature is available in your installed app. Review dates describe when this page was checked, not when a version shipped.
We add entries when there is a verified, meaningful change. A day without a new entry does not indicate a failed update check. For a problem with the current workflow, start with Troubleshooting & Known Issues or get help.
