Check the essentials#
Use your Mac’s system information to check the operating-system version and processor. Make sure you have space for the application and the local speech model. The reviewed release notes do not establish a precise minimum memory or storage figure, so this guide does not invent one.
Download the universal release rather than choosing an unofficial architecture-specific archive. Universal packaging means both binaries are included; it does not mean every Intel model has received a real installation test. Fresh-machine and Intel installation coverage remains incomplete.
Prepare your workflow#
Open Codex and a recognizable test conversation before testing replies. CueSpec cannot complete AI work independently of the connected task environment. Local speech recognition and optional server-based text refinement also have different prerequisites.
A microphone and permission to use it are necessary for voice capture. Check CueSpec’s status overview for model and permission readiness. If your organization restricts application installation or AI use, establish the permitted workflow before recording work material. Do not interpret a successful installation as approval to send organizational data.
