What the evidence shows#
A real external answer was delivered in the same turn, and backend progress no longer required the question. The visible Codex card remained open. Native submission had a separate UI-closing behavior. These are distinct outcomes.
Handle the ambiguity#
Check whether the answer appears in the original conversation and whether work has continued. Do not resend merely to dismiss the card. If you choose a native action, first review what it will submit and whether that would duplicate your response.
A persistent card should be reported with the visible state and actual answer receipt, using sanitized material. Receipt confirmation does not establish card closure; card closure also does not establish that the agent completed the requested work.
Current scope#
This is a known issue page, not a claim that every structured question is unusable. Partial-answer submission is described in the release, while visual closure needs separate integration support. Keep current host and companion versions in the report because behavior may change with either application.
