Local transcription and optional text refinement

Local transcription turns captured speech into a draft on your Mac. Optional text refinement is a separate service-dependent stage intended to make that draft clearer without changing its meaning.

The available baseline#

The released Mac workflow can transcribe locally without a CueSpec Server connection. Hold Fn, speak, release and inspect the draft. Original recordings remain on the computer according to the reviewed product material.

Text refinement needs a configured CueSpec Server and login. The snapshot does not establish complete real-service acceptance, so a reachable service or saved login should not be treated as proof of working refinement.

Compare the right texts#

Keep the raw draft visible when evaluating a refined result. Check names, numbers, negation, permissions and the final preference after a self-correction. A cleaner sentence can be less accurate if it drops a condition.

If refinement is unavailable, manually organize the transcript into an objective, constraints and requested output. If refinement fails, preserve the original text rather than discarding it. Neither path sends the instruction merely because it sounds polished; delivery remains a deliberate action in the selected conversation.
