# Update CueSpec without interrupting a draft

The published Mac update route checks and downloads in the background, then installs when you deliberately quit. It avoids forced exit while recording, sending or saving a draft.

## Normal update path
Use the app’s update check in settings or the quota panel if you want to check manually. Finish your active work and let drafts save before quitting for installation. Reopen and confirm the version afterward.

CueSpec updates and Codex updates are separate. A reminder that Codex has an update should be handled through Codex’s own updater; CueSpec does not automatically install the host app’s release.

## Evidence and limits
The reviewed development record includes a real old-version migration and an automatic upgrade with user data preserved on the tested Mac. It does not establish every fresh installation, Intel machine, power-loss or full-disk case.

If an update does not appear, check whether you are on the old feed or version requiring manual migration. If downloading or installation fails, retain the current working app and the visible error. Do not delete drafts or account data as a first troubleshooting step.
