# Reply to structured questions with care

The reviewed Mac release supports submitting answered parts of a structured question. A known integration issue can leave Codex’s original question card open even after an external answer arrives.

## Answer the intended question
Read each question and supply the information you actually know. If the task permits a partial response, make missing items clear rather than fabricating them. Confirm that the answers belong to the current question set before submitting.

After submission, inspect the original conversation when the UI remains ambiguous. The reviewed issue shows that backend progress no longer needing an answer is not sufficient evidence that the visible question card closed.

## Avoid accidental duplicates
Do not repeatedly submit just to remove a persistent card. Check whether the answer is already present and whether the agent has continued. If you use the native Codex control to finish the interaction, first verify what that action will send.

This guide describes the current scope and the known UI boundary. It does not claim the integration issue is fixed or that every question format has equivalent handling. Keep a report focused on the question state, visible card and actual received answer, with private content removed.
