# Use the status overview to find the failing stage

The status overview separates local model readiness, macOS permissions, Codex state and service connectivity. Use those checks to narrow a problem rather than assuming every failure is caused by voice recognition.

## Read checks independently
A ready microphone and model support local transcription. A running Codex app supports the task environment. A reachable CueSpec service concerns optional service use. These conditions can differ at the same moment.

Saved login information is not proof that the server validated it. A health endpoint responding is not proof that authenticated refinement succeeds. Likewise, a connected Codex environment is not proof that the latest reply was delivered.

## Turn checks into a small test
If local voice is ready, record one sentence. If it creates a draft, check the destination and send a simple request. If you want optional refinement, assess that route separately using a raw draft you can compare.

The overview also provides version and system details useful for a support report. Review any copied diagnostic summary before sharing it. These indicators help you locate a stage; they do not replace evidence of capture, receipt or task completion.
