# Work in a silent zone without speaking

If a space requires silence, use typed drafts or move before speaking. Whisper recognition does not make voice input socially or acoustically silent.

## Keep the workflow without the speech
CueSpec’s task view and in-context replies can still support a keyboard workflow. Read the latest answer, write a focused instruction, inspect the destination and send deliberately. Voice is one input option, not a requirement for every step.

For a longer explanation, jot a short outline and record it later in a suitable place. You can preserve the important facts as bullets: objective, constraint, source material and desired output. This also reduces the risk of forgetting a limitation while speaking spontaneously.

## What the hardware can and cannot change
A wearable input device may make low-volume capture more convenient. It cannot grant permission to speak in a no-speaking area. A clean transcript also does not show that neighbors could not hear the wearer.

The SPECS 01 soft-speech direction should therefore be evaluated against two separate criteria: capture quality and people’s experience around the device. Neither criterion can be inferred from the other. A successful office setup includes the room’s norms and the task’s confidentiality requirements, alongside the technology.
