# Microphone noise rejection versus quieter listening

Reducing noise in a microphone recording and reducing the noise a listener hears are different functions. A clean input stream does not imply that SPECS 01 isolates the wearer from the room.

## Follow the signal direction
Microphone processing affects audio sent toward transcription or a call. Speaker behavior affects audio you hear. Office comfort also includes the speech other people hear from you. These are three separate directions of sound.

If a transcript contains a colleague’s phrase, inspect the capture path. If you cannot concentrate because the room is noisy, evaluate the listening environment. If coworkers find your dictation distracting, change speaking habits or location. Solving one does not automatically solve the others.

## Avoid shorthand promises
Supplier terminology such as environmental noise cancellation should be read in the context of the actual audio path. It should not be expanded into guaranteed active noise cancellation, hearing protection or perfect speech separation.

For CueSpec, surrounding-voice interference is a hardware development target. The currently available Mac software can preserve and edit a transcript, while the glasses integration needs its own acceptance. Judge the combined route by a reviewed request arriving correctly, with the room’s expectations respected.
