# Multiple computers: identity before routing

Multi-computer support is a stated next priority alongside Windows. It needs clear device identity and task routing before a prompt can safely be directed to another machine.

## What must be explicit
Which computer owns the conversation? Is it connected and available? Which task will receive the reply? How are drafts and receipts associated with that destination? These questions are more important than showing a combined task list.

A monitor attached to a Mac is not another execution device. Likewise, signing into an account does not automatically establish reliable cross-device synchronization.

## Current alternative
Work in the original host environment and keep task names clear. Transfer reviewed text manually when needed, then confirm the target conversation. The current Mac companion’s local task list does not span every machine.

The reviewed roadmap does not establish a ready device-binding service, automatic failover or background execution on a sleeping computer. Future instructions should define connection requirements, permissions, recovery and how uncertain sends are handled across hosts. No launch date or default remote-control authorization is implied by this page.
