# A headset disconnects or the input device changes

After an input device disconnects, verify the active capture route before recording again. Audio playback and microphone input can use different devices.

## Recover deliberately
Stop the unsuccessful attempt and preserve any useful draft. Reconnect the device if appropriate, then check the host’s input selection and CueSpec readiness. Use a short sentence to confirm the new route before recording a long instruction.

Do not infer microphone readiness merely because you hear sound through the headset or glasses. Playback can succeed while recording uses the built-in microphone or no usable input at all.

## Document the transition
For a repeatable report, note the device, host, app version and whether disconnection occurred before or during recording. Include whether the next attempt captured silence, the wrong source or normal speech.

Bluetooth 5.3 on SPECS 01 is a connectivity specification rather than a complete host-compatibility matrix. Final wearable pairing, reset and recovery instructions are still needed. This guide gives a general capture check, not an invented glasses reset sequence or a promise of uninterrupted reconnect behavior.
